17-10-2018 Design and implementation of a clinic, low costo, vectocardiagraphic device with assisted diagnosis
The Vectocardiogram is a diagnostic and monitoring technique of the electrical functioning of the heart in three and four dimensions (space-time), inscribing vector loops of myocardial electrical activity in three planes: Horizontal, Frontal and Sagittal. and therefore the VCG provides information that is sometimes difficult to obtain with the 12-lead ECG. 3 axes are evaluated: Vertical (Y), Horizontal (X) and Antero-posterior (Z). Although the VCG has been recognized by numerous authors as an excellent non-invasive diagnostic method in cardiology, in many cases superior to the 12-lead ECG. VCG has not had the same acceptance as ECG, probably due to the large number of registry variants, complexity of its interpretation, little availability and high cost of the equipment. In the present project, a practical VCG system will be designed and implemented, with computer-assisted diagnosis, low cost and clinical use.
